Go watch this. I swear there's no cats.

Stella Link is singularly awesome because they are letting their favorite bitter little intern (me) have her own month to talk about all the stuff she thinks is awesome. So, get on your reading glasses and find out what the kids think is fresh and happenin' these days!

I have just spent three hours eating a variety of Laughing Cow cheeses and Wheat Thins Flatbread crackers. No, I didn't just get dumped. I've been watching Political Animals, the limited series event brought to you by USA Network. It is a look at a fictional former First Family in turmoil. Sigourney Weaver stars as the divorced former First Lady and current Secretary of State trying to keep her family together while facing political crises and fending off the journalist (Carla Gugino) who built her career by tearing Elaine down.
In one awesome bit of writing by creator/director/writer Greg Berlanti, the journalist asks Elaine how she can maintain her political resolve, Elaine answers,
"Most of life is hell. It's filled with failure and loss. People disappoint you, dreams don't work out, hearts get broken, innocent journalists die, and the best moments of life - when everything comes together - are few and fleeting, but you'll never get to the next great moment if you don't keep going. So that's what I do. I keep going."

You can watch the pilot episode here and then, once you inevitably get hooked, you can watch all the rest! It's seriously the perfect show for election season.(Surprise! The English major/Political Science minor loves the political show with good writing.)
